Infant Program Overview

Learn to Swim Box Hill:  Infant and Toddler Classes

We offer swimming lessons for infants and toddlers aged between 6 months and 3 years at our Box Hill South Centre and at Aqualink Box Hill.

Guided by our specially trained instructors, you will learn to gently and safely introduce your child to water. Our instructors will not force development on them, but rather nurture confidence through fun songs and activities so as your child’s self-assurance grows. You will help them learn swimming skills such as breath control and propulsion.

Offered 7 days a week, your 30-minute class provides a great opportunity for mum, dad, nan or pa to spend special one-on-one time bonding with the child.

Learning to swim provides benefits beyond the pool

Research has shown that the importance of swimming lessons at this age transcends past water safety.  Did you know children who undertake lessons from an early age are, on average, 6 to 15 months ahead of non-swimmers when it comes to solving math problems, counting, language and following instructions?  Click here to read more .  Who would have guessed swim lessons were beneficial in developing aspects of their lives beyond water safety!

We would love for you to be a part of the Surrey Park family and join us in giving your child one of the most important skills they will gain in life.

Level Progression

The Infant program is the first step in your child’s journey with Surrey Park Swimming.
They will progress through our program based on age and can start the program at any time after 6 months of age.

At the end of our Infant Program, your child will be more confident and ready to swim without their carer in a Pre Foundation class as part of our Learn to Swim Program.

What our customers are saying:

“When my grandson first started lessons he was very hesitant to enter the water. The team were so encouraging and patient and now you can’t stop him in the water. He loves his lessons and the improvement is amazing. Just love watching his confidence grow each week. Thank you to everyone.”

“The swimming teachers are always patient, reduce any fears the young children may have and build a fantastic rapport with the kids. Would definitely recommend for those looking to start their young children swimming. My daughter wouldn’t go near a pool until we started lessons here”
