Candidates who have completed their swim teacher training course and are seeking to complete their unpaid supervised hours to work towards their competency assessment should get in touch with our swim school coordinators at our location they wish to attend.

Please hold off on completing your cardiopulmonary resuscitation qualification until closer to your competency assessment date to complete as this qualification needs to be renewed annually.

- Surrey Park Swimming conducts Swim Australia teacher courses at our Blackburn and Heidelberg locations
- After completing your course, you can complete your supervised volunteer hours with qualified instructors to get real, hands-on experience. Candidates are encouraged to complete their supervised hours with Surrey Park Swimming
- Once confident, candidates can be assessed for teaching competency by one of our qualified assessors
- There is the potential for future employment with Surrey Park Swimming after you are deemed competent as a swimming teacher
