Swimming Teachers

Positions located at Aqualink Box Hill and Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club.

Our swim school is looking to employ additional qualified instructors to join its team of professional learn to swim staff for school groups during the day. This position is ideal for stay at home parents or retirees looking for casual work.

The Swim School operates 7 days a week. Lessons are offered after school, during the weekdays and on weekends. If you are interested in applying you must be Austswim or Swim Australia qualified, hold a current CPR certificate, and a valid employee Working with Children’s Check.

Diving Teachers

Our diving lessons run on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings during the school terms. School diving programs are also run throughout the year for local primary and secondary schools. Diving holiday programs are run in between all school terms. If you are interested in applying you must hold an accredited level 1 dive coaching qualification, a current CPR certificate, a valid employee Working with Children’s Check and be registered with Diving Victoria.

In accordance with the Safe Sport Framework we require all applicants to undergo an extensive screening and background check process prior to appointment.

How to become a Swimming Teacher

  • After completing the Austswim course, candidates are required to do training hours with qualified instructors to get real, hands-on experience in swim teaching. These hours are offered with Surrey Park Swimming at Aqualink Box Hill.
  • Once confident, candidates can be assessed for teaching competency by an Austswim assessor. There is the potential for future employment with Surrey Park after you are deemed competent as a swimming teacher.

How to become a Swimming Coach
