Training Schedule

All of the Club’s swimmers except those attending Nationals started back training the week beginning Monday 15 April.

Please Note the changes below:

  • Swimmers in National Target squad will have a modified schedule just between 15 and 27 April.
  • Thursday 25 April: Anzac Day Public Holiday, no sessions for any squad
  • Saturday 27 April, due to Metro All Junior Semis, Junior Intermediate will swim with Junior Beginner at Strathcona 6.15 to 8am. Junior Advanced will swim with State Dev/State Target at AQBH 8 to 9.30am.

The sessions for all the Club’s other squads will remain as in Term 1 (refer to the link to the regular timetable below).

Entering Swim Meets

Swim meet entries are done online through SWIM CENTRAL.

Swimmers and their families are responsible for lodging their own meet entries.

Futher details about each meet can be accessed via the CALENDAR OF EVENTS on Swimming Victoria’s website.

A number of meets will fill well before the published closing date. Swimmers are advised to enter early to avoid potentially missing out.

Training Breaks

Training breaks for each of the Club’s squads are scheduled around the competition calendar and holiday periods.

Details of the breaks planned are provided in the table below.

Club Records

Surrey Park Swimming Club maintains records for both men and women, across a range of age groups, in the following categories:

It is necessary to apply for a Club record to be recognised. To do this, please email the following details to records@surreypark.org.au:

  • Swimmer’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Record claimed (age group, stroke, distance)
  • Date, meet and venue.

Club Uniform & Merchandise

Club Uniform Requirements

It is expected that all Surrey Park swimmers will wear Club uniform when attending external swim meets.

All Surrey Park swimmers should also wear the NAVY Surrey Park logo cap for training sessions.

The following uniform items are designated as compulsory for ALL competitors.

  • Surrey Park Navy Polo Shirt
  • Surrey Park Navy Blue Shorts or Track Pants
  • NAVY Surrey Park Logo Swimming Cap

Swimmers competing at State and National Championships are required to have the Surrey Park jacket and track pants.

Club Uniform & Merchandise Purchases

Club uniform and merchandise is ordered and paid for online via our online store.

  • Navy Swim Caps can also be purchased at either of our reception desks at Aqualink and Blackburn
  • Deck Jackets are now available all year round directly from our Club embroiderer, they will aim to keep popular sizes in stock. To order please contact David at CC Uniforms, they are just down the road from our Blackburn Centre. (1B Ailsa St, Box Hill South, ph 9898 6132). Deck Jackets are not available for purchase on our online store, and will show as out of stock.

DMC Fins for Training

The Surrey Park coaches recommend the Club swimmers have the DMC brand of fins for training because these are lighter in weight and more flexible.

DMC fins can be purchase over the counter at Surrey Park’s Blackburn Learn to Swim Centre, located at 313 Middleborough Road, Box Hill South (between Spotlight and Anaconda).

A free drink bottle and navy SP logo swim cap is included with each pair fins purchased by a Surrey Park member (or swim School student).

 

 

 

Surrey Park Swimwear - Delfina

Surrey Park have partnered with Delfina for Surrey Park training bathers, FINA approved racesuits* and other accessories. These items can only be ordered through the Delfina dedicated Club store, the Delfina store opens for one to two week windows 3-4 times a year for pre-paid ordering.

  • Please select “Pick-up” as the delivery method
  • All orders are delivered in bulk to Surrey Park for distribution to families
  • Orders take 4-5 weeks from after each ordering window closes (Backpacks take 6-7 weeks)

*Race suits are typically for swimmers aged 12 years and over only, this is due to their use being prohibited for swimmers under 12 in SV sanctioned meets. Swimming Victoria By-Law 8 Competitions and Events 6.2 – Competitors 11 years and under are not permitted (or allowed) to wear a technical/performance suit in SV hosted competitions.
