Victorian Age Short Course Championships

By | Competitive Squads | No Comments
“A successful State age championships was held over the weekend with over 20 of our swimmers per night making the finals”.

Overall we had 32 medals won by Surrey Park swimmers. The highlight was certainly the team spirit with many swimmers that were not competing coming into support their teammates. All swimmers were up and cheering before each swimmers race which certainly lifted the performance of the swimmers. Congratulations to Chantelle Underwood who from her results (6 medals) gained selection for the Victorian State team to compete in early October.

Surrey Park Welcomes New Coaches

By | Competitive Squads | No Comments
Welcome to the newest members of our coaching staff.
Coach Justin

Justin returns to Surrey Park Swimming after a highly successful career coaching up North, heading up our Target 2020 and 2024 squads.

Justin spent much of his previous ‘swimming life’ at Surrey Park, initially as a successful swimmer and then as an assistant coach working primarily with our Junior and State level swimmers.

During his time with Surrey Park, Justin coached a number of Victorian Age Championship medal winners and was a member of the coaching team achieving a 3rd place at the 2012 National Age Championships and four-time National Open Water Champions.

During Justin’s time up North, his coaching career has prospered culminating in his selection as an Australian Team Coach for the Australian Junior Pan Pacs 2018 Team.

We welcome Justin back to the Surrey Park family and are excited to have him back on board.

Coach Julie-Anne

We are excited to have Julie-Anne join the Surrey Park family as an experienced Silver Licence coach having swum successfully at Australian Open level and trained at the AIS for a year.

In 2012 Julie-Anne was selected as an assistant manager on the Trans Tasman Australian Youth Team.

Julie-Anne has held a number of swim coaching positions and was an assistant coach at Tigersharks and MLC Aquatic. At Tigersharks, Julie-Anne coached Development, Junior, State and National Age Group level swimmers including several National Age medal winners.

Julie-Anne will be heading up our State Youth and Youth Development squads.

Welcome to the Surrey Park Family and please help us make them feel welcome and introduce yourself if you see them on the pool deck!
